to grandmother's house we went!

And what an adventure it was!

We decided to go visit my Dad's side of the family for Easter. Growing up we always went to Kittanning (near Pittsburgh, PA) for Thanksgiving and Easter to visit our extended family and to partake in wonderful food and company. From our house in CT, it is about an 8 hour drive. But we needed to stop for some leg stretching, a nap for David, and a few potty and food breaks for all of us...including Roxy!

It was so very fun and wonderful to take Matilda there! I can't believe how much our family is growing! Last year while we were there for Easter we made the "big announcement" that we were going to be having Matilda...how time flies!!

We loved staying with my Aunt Lori, Uncle Randy, Stacy...and of course, Dan!! We loved their new room and hope to have one of our own someday! Roxy gets so spoiled there with loads of fun walks and treats from Uncle Randy. And, of course, Matilda was lovin' the attention too! We had so much fun talking, remembering, and laughing our guts out! Thanks so much guys! You are the best!

It was also great to see my Grandma Smith and to feel her sweet kisses and hugs again! I don't think there is anything more wonderful! I just love going to Kittanning and feeling such wonderful memories rush back as I think about my experiences there. And it is so fun to make new memories with our ever growing brood!

As cousins, we have a big joke going about how we will never make it to the "big" table to eat dinner. Ever since we can remember we have always eaten in the kitchen, while our parents and grandparents got to have the formal set-up in the dining room. Well...not much has changed...except for us!! We have all gotten bigger, married, and now have kids of our own. And still only one of us has made the advancement to the grown-up table. It is so bad that we are now being usurped by the younger generation (thanks a lot Rob!!)!! But, we came to the consensus this year that it just wouldn't be the same eating anywhere else!! We love the little nook that has been carved out for us! I sure do love my people! It is so fun to see them and so hard to say good-bye. But, luckily we have the blog...so, to all my PA kinfolk....I sure do love you! We'll see you next year...and save me a spot at the "kid" table!
