Weekend Spectacular!

What a weekend! We affectionately termed it "our last big adventure before Matilda"!

As you can see...we started off the weekend searching our backyard for the perfect Thanksgiving meal. Could it get any easier? We have this huge family of turkeys that migrate through every few days looking for food and just having fun. We have been watching them since the spring when it was just Mom and Dad and their 11 babies. We are currently taking Thanksgiving orders, or invite anyone over with their bow and arrows...we want to give them a fighting chance! But we really do hope they survive the "big hunt" and live to see many more Thanksgivings!




Friday night we went to the Haunted Corn Maze at our local historical site, the Nathan Hale Homestead. It was so fun, even though Lara was the only one to get scared...as usual! Luckily we remembered our flashlights so we could find our way out...but don't worry, they informed us that the police will come find you if you don't come back out. Very comforting! We had lots of fun and kept wondering if Matilda will have fun there next year. Plus, David found his old friend, the headless pirate!




And last but not least, we drove to Carver, MA (near the Cape) to go to "King Richard's Faire". It is a huge Renaissance Festival with loads to see and do. We started the day by watching the King's Royal Jousting Tournament and cheering on the English knight (what do you expect?). Then we proceeded to eat too much food and walk around taking in all the sights (shops and people...some were kind of strange!) and watching a few light-hearted shows. Then we ended the day by watching "The Joust to the Death". David and I loved cheering for our knight (who won!) and seeing how much people really get into dressing up and recreating that time period. It was a really fun day and helped to bring on some good contractions for a while. We even had a lady ask us if we were sure that we were having only one baby, and maybe we should think about getting another ultrasound...ya gotta love it! I guess we will have some funny things to write in her baby book! And I will definitely be hitting the elliptical ASAP!
