he's one!!

i can't believe it!!  how did that year go so quickly?  

it has been so wonderful though!  i have loved every minute of my sweet and crazy baby!  he has definitely got some serious personality!

right now he loves...matilda, dada, snuggling with mama, giggling, seeing how everything works, growling, roaring, walking, running, putting things in his mouth, his bottle, his blankets, sucking on tags, sucking on wipes, anything matilda has or is doing, riding or sitting in the wagon, outdoors, playing, getting dirty, roxy, banging on things to see how they sound, blowing raspberries, eating everything...even dog food, slobbery kisses, being tickled, wrestling, the park, swinging, shoes, going for walks/adventures, his friends...especially posey, throwing things in the trash, throwing tantrums, playing chase, reading books, and most of all...having fun and being with his family.  

Charlie is so curious and adventurous.  he is always studying things and how they work, how certain things feel, and what will happen to them...cause and effect.  he is all boy!  he has the hardest head of anyone i know.  i have lost track of how many times he has been injured or fell off the bed or bumped into things.  it seems like it may be a daily occurrence!  he has been on the move since he was in the womb...seriously!  if i had only known...

Charlie is also the sweetest and happiest little boy!  he is always concerned if you are sad or will just come over and lay his head on you or give you hug randomly while he is playing.  he loves to smile and will try to get your attention and make you smile too.  and, of course, all of that turns me into mush...so he tends to get his way a lot...shhhh...don't tell anyone!!  

we celebrated the big day with a "letter C" party.  theme...courtesy of Matilda.  i thought it was super cute so we ran with it!

a very big boy on his birthday...

Charlie really is the funniest boy I know!  He is so cute and sweet and stubborn and tough.  It is crazy to have all that rolled up into one little boy!

i think these are both pretty average for a one year old...but is gigantic compared to Matilda, who was a little bird and barely weighed 20 pounds at this age!

Nana and Papa came to celebrate with us...along with some of Charlie's favorite people.  we had a great time!  most of the food started with a "C"...cupcakes, cake, carrots, celery, crackers, cheese...etc...

we had a great time coming up with a menu!  plus, most of those things are very 1 year old friendly food items...so it worked.

but, mostly he loved that he was the center of attention and that everyone he loved was there just for him.  he really couldn't get enough!  it made me smile!!

and he had his very own cake.  as every big boy should!  in this picture...he was hugging it.  he makes me laugh!  who does that?
