#6 Pennsylvania

so, matilda and i took a road trip to the greatest state around...that's right...Pennsylvania!! {i have a lot of state pride, david says we're as bad as texas}

and these are the people we went to visit...

the brother, home from byu and in love (more on that later)

papa, silly and huggable and loves to tell stories

the sister, crazy and funny and very creative

nana, likes to play and sing and spoil miss m

we went to chocolate world while we were there, just for fun and exposure. matilda really hasn't been all that much and she needs to become familiar in the conditioned ways of being a pennsylvanian. it is her heritage after all. kind of like pioneer day!

nana came along to spend the day with us, which matilda loved! we had milkshakes, got free candy...

...and played by the waterfall...it was a very fun day! we also got to hit the hershey outlets on the way home. a very fun day indeed!

matilda also spent a lot of time outside while we were there...perfecting her twizzler tricks...

...and FINALLY...

...mastering the slide! {or as we lovingly call it...the wheeeee!!}

and happily aunt sara was there for some tutoring on the slide. why does it always seem so fun when someone else tries to teach it? i will never know? but, it worked! aren't they cute??!!

i also had a chance to pick the sour cherry tree clean!! yea!! i have been dreaming of doing this for years! i always miss the cherry season at my parent's and it was fun to be able to finally have some Smith cherries to freeze for the fall! thanks guys!

photos courtesy of sara!

and the mint patch! oh how it calls out to you to make some yummy mint tea or to garnish something!! my dad has always had a mint patch in his garden. when we were little we would always try to go back and smell it and rub the leaves on our fingers. it was heavenly! i think they even had 2 patches this year...regular and chocolate!

and, of course, matilda loved playing on all the toys! she was so funny sitting in her car watching us pick cherries. what a hoot!

and this is what happened the morning after we got home. we were exhausted! my two tired girl's watching sesame street all relaxed on the bed. i couldn't help but take a picture to remember it!

long live PA...we'll see you again soon, my love!!

Hey Lara!
I'm glad you found my blog so now we can stay in touch! I stayed up way too late last night looking through all of your old posts. How fun! I have to agree with David on the PA pride thing, Aaron has a problem with it too. LOL! We are going to be making a trip back to PA next month to visit Aaron's family, and we are very excited about it. Glad you are doing well. Congrats!
